Your inventory is yours. Each household's items, photos and history live in their own separate database schema, and nothing in Skanny reads across that boundary.

Skanny publishes nothing about what you own unless you offer a specific thing for sale, rent or loan. Until you do, there is no public listing, no shared index and no browsing of other people's things.

When you do offer something, the listing carries what it is, what you are asking, one photo if you include it, and a rough distance. It does not carry where in your home the thing is kept, your address, or anything else you own. The coordinates behind that distance are rounded to about a kilometre before they are stored, so they can answer "is this nearby" and cannot answer "which house". Withdraw the offer and the listing and its photo are deleted.

We store the email address you sign in with and a hash of your password — never the password itself. Email is only used to reset it. There are no third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
